great so they are into segration of pvp and pve, i'm sorry but wtf....

i own guildwars, why should i have top start a second account to try the new characters, and can only save the skills i earned for that account, just because i have 4 chars for pve and use "them" for pvp,...again wtf...

ever think to allow a temp 2 slots or even one, and save that information to my account in the case i do buy chapter 2?

i guess that might make too much sence.

so if i pvp i get to save ( or a second account ) the stuff, if i don't, i don't....

so does this mean i don't get to use the 4 characters i have already for chapter 2? do i have to delete a char. or 2 just to play the new stuff....sorry i wasn't going to read all 3 pages today :P

and something at another event will be pve only and not pvp...comon ppl ...plz...like you can't delete a pvp char that much more easily then pve to try the new chars., because it's that much harder for me to delete a pve char and go back while in pvp it an't jack....

sigh..i dunno...shrugs...every game lacks something tome ...and myabe or maybe not it's because i'd like to have it my way, like everyone else, but then there's that something that every game i have ever played lacks, and maybe that's what i seeing now...shrugs..maybe i have just had a hard day and i'm taking it out on gw....but some things just make me go....gimme the gun kill me now type of thing, like where's the common sence.....

don't get me wrong, i love this game , i have played it like a fiend since day one, it has it's upsides and down like everything else....

and i know what it is like when you get so far and realise, there is a snag in the system, and the only way out is to change the way it is done....

i myself am on a team creating a new mechwarrior game and it has been in production for some time even before i joined the group....www.is3025.com. <<< if your intrested ( i model and texture :P )

i dunno maybe i'm just ranting but overall i have come to expect a little bit more from developers...then again it's prolly just me...:P

how many people are going to do what i am going to do?

i will set up a disposable use one time throw away email addy and look around at the scenery and try things out.

i wont delete a core character (nuts to that) just for the tiny bit of a head start i could get on a few other people.

WAKE UP PEOPLE

WILL WHAT YOU GRAB IN ONE WEEKEND MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE 6 WEEKS INTO THE GAME?

Loviatar, my point being earlier and to the below, we *could* have used our unlocks we've already worked on for hundreds of hours to date, *if* we had a slot available to make use of it.. OR we have to lose a character. Not everyone is jammed up, but some people like myself, are.

So here's what we miss out by not having our original account on it-
All the unlocks we've worked for we could have PvP'd with
Gaining the faction/new unlocks/rank/etc for our account during wkend

Disposable separate account is an option sure. But if you're like me you wanted to play the crap out of the new content this weekend, leveraging all the work you've done before and kicking out more faction/rank/unlocks the whole time. That along with the still potential 1-2 slot for chp2 frustrates.

Even if you don't think you'd grab too much new over the weekend, it sounds like just a 'starter set of skills'. I have all the ele, necro, mesmer skills and elites and most all of the other 3 classes. This would be a MUCH more engaging weekend to me if I could make use of them - thus disappointment.

But I'm a lot better now, I've resolved myself to either GW gets fixing this bottleneck or I move on. I'm looking at the disposable route because I wont nuke a character but I'm not sure I got it right... anyone else add the PvP free for all weekend under 'add key'? I'm not sure how I could access that though or set up another account on the same install, I guess I have about a week to figure that out

I hope it doesn't come to that, otherwise I really enjoy the game

This is a PvP event. Stop whining. There will most likely be a PvE event (All of the Halloween main event was PvE only).

If I hadn't had a PvE character, then I wouldn't have been able to participate in the main PvE Halloween event. Why is it so hard to accept that you won't be able to try the new professions if you don't have a PvP only character? Actually, that's not even true.

Create a temporary account. Problem solved. Stop whining, please.

in reference to the FREE PREVIEW event :

you cant have your cake and eat it too.

end of story.

if you want to try out new things in guild wars, you have to be willing to keep a slot open. if you do not leave your self room for some flexablity, it is your own fault. the reasons behind your choice are irrelevent, but if you filled all 4 slots w/ PvE guys and are unwilling to part w/ one of them to try something new, then too bad.

however, if you say "ok, i need/want to create a 4th PvE char to do X" and think to yourself 'ya know, i might have to delete one of these someday if i ever want to do anything other then these 4 chars . . .' then you already know what you need to do. dont blame your stubborness or lack of forsight on the developer.

now, before you try to lynch me, let me say this. the above statement is in regards to the event this weekend. i am not saying that we should not get at least 1 more slot (or more) when the retail version is released, becase i really think we should. however, ANET has ZERO obligation to GIVE us a free slot in the CURRENT game just so that we can PREVIEW the new stuff. they are however being very generous (as always) and giving us the CHANCE to do so, if we so CHOOSE.

D2 isn't a mmorpg, it's a stand alone offline game with an online multiplayer feature hardly catagorized like a Guild Wars or an EQ or a DAOC as mentioned.

Oh yeah bring in those who have no clue how to play pvp, that will mean less faction when you get in groups with these people. I've seen enough of them in random 4x4 pvp arenas, don't know how to play, don't bring a rez sig, charge into the enemy without support. Yeah boy I want to see these people in the preview....NOT!

hmm somehow my post here got deleted...my second one...anyway i'll make this short.

PVP= can destroy a character, and remake it and still have what you had the first time.

PVE= destroy a character and say goodbye to it forever.

yet, kill a pve character and all you unlocks are still therefor pvp.

gee sorry if making a temp slot for everyone and saving the information to their accounts and deleting the temp slot afterwards, is so much harder then a seperate account...yup drop in them quarters folks the arcade is open....

convert non-pvp'rs? how when anyone who is strictly pvp, won't accept anything below a rank 3?

can't have your cake and eat it too? looks to me like it's a pvp only cake, does it make a differance 6 weeks into the game, well if your pvp or have a slot it doesn't really matter to you does it?
